Total Eclipse Student Rental Program

Are you enrolled in court reporting school?  Because we’re a company that’s owned and managed by court reporters, we understand.

Total Eclipse can also help you keep yourself motivated to get through school.  You might come home discouraged about not passing a speed test.  Working with Eclipse on your own computer can help you regain a positive attitude.  The more you learn about your CAT software while you’re in school, the more attractive you become when you’re interviewing for your first reporting job.

You can now rent an educational copy of Advantage Software’s industry-leading Total Eclipse CAT software with 24-hour support, including weekends and holidays, for one low payment of $399.

Even better, when you are ready to purchase the commercial version of Total Eclipse, your rental payments will be applied to the purchase price.  You will also receive an additional $300 discount off the regular price of Total Eclipse at the time you purchase the commercial version for reporters or captioners.

This is a great way to master Total Eclipse and to build up your personal steno dictionary.  Get comfortable with realtime steno translation, synchronized audio recording and playback, closed captioning output, and every other great Total Eclipse feature.

 Restrictions

  • Program is available to persons currently enrolled in court reporting school.
  • This version is for education purposes, not for commercial use.  Your steno file and translated text can be as long as you want, but the student version printouts or ASCII files will not go beyond 50 pages.  Each page printed bears the notation “Educational Version.  Not for Commercial Use.”  You can move student files and “block” files to a commercial version of Total Eclipse, but a special password is necessary.
  • Synchronized audio recording and playback is built in, not extra.
  • You can use the student version to master all the features related to closed captioning, too.
  • Unlimited text can be imported from other CAT systems as ASCII files or via the RTF/CRE format.  (See “Convert” in the Total Eclipse “Tools” menu.)
  • Dictionary files can be imported from other CAT systems in either  Stentura or RTF/CRE formats.
  • Dictionary files can be exported to other CAT systems in either Stentura or RTF/CRE formats.
  • To qualify for a student discount, you must purchase the commercial version of Total Eclipse within 60 days of graduation/certification.
  • Maximum rental period of four years.
  • Discounts are for full translation systems only.

Hang in there!
